We have an aquarium stand that we have used for the past 3 years... we recently moved and had to repaint it because while the stand was in storage, we had boxes on it and the cardboard stuck to the paint. We had to sand down the parts that had cardboard stuck to it, and we repainted it with some...

I have a coldwater 55 gallon goldfish tank with a few live plants that grow very well

my goldfish clementine (~3 yrs old) has a white bump above her eye and this big bulge on her left side... I have read everything I could to try to figure out the problem and she isnt showing the symptoms of alot of the diseases... its not red, it just looks like a...
yea thats the weird thing, ive had all my white clouds for over 2 years now and never had any problems, if its a big chunk of food they just bite off little bits, chew it, chase down the rest of the big piece, and do it again.
Maybe this one got a little too excited, or was having an eating...
While I was feeding my goldies last night one of my white clouds tried to swallow a piece of food and it got stuck in his mouth... he couldnt chew it and just kinda stayed in the water and floated everywhere but didnt seem to be in any pain. I figured the water would eventually soften up the...
white cloud mountain minnows arent tropical fish and corys thrive in the temperature i have, so unless i was considering something like angels then i dont think i have anything to worry about.

any tips on getting the treatment off the wood? right now im just sanding it with sandpaper but its a real pain in the ass becuase its so slow. i have no access to an electric sander, so thats not an option. i just have to get the treatment off so the new paint will stick.
I found this at the salvation army for $15. It is one of those open backed bars and its made of HEAVY and THICK wood. What a deal! I'm sanding it down right now and I am going to repaint it. I will put something in the 30-40 gallon range on top.
Heres a pic
I read somewhere that if your tank is longer than your stand, you can put a thick piece of wood under the tank that fits the dimensions and then put the wood on the stand and it will support it...
say your stand is 24 inches long, but your tank is 30 inches long so 3 inches are hanging off each...
any other advice? im going to look at the tank tommorrow around 3 pm but am kinda torn because all i need is the tank, hood and light. it comes with a heater too as well as 1 filter, and that would mark the $ up higher.
I found a tank on craigslist for $40
This includes a 29 gallon slightly used tank (no cracks), a hood w/o light, and 1 working filter (would not use it bc i already have a really nice one). I would need to get a lightbulb and am trying to find a really cheap stand for it somewhere. Is this a...
I have a lionhead goldfish, some corys, 2 small flounders, and some white clouds. Right now I have some gravel that covers the bottom of the tank and some fake grass ontop of about 25% of it in one of the corners.
Since I recently got some flounders I wanted to get some sand as well so they...
