    Ghost Shrimp Breeding/baby survival

Hi there, I have a 29G planted tank with 1 Amano shrimp, 3 dwarf frogs, 5 female betta, 2 otos, 5 harlequin rasbora. I do a 20% water change every few weeks and filter. I think it is pretty decently planted (all real) and I have floating and overgrown tall plants. My tank is 79F and it's been...

    Feeding AFD and Bettas

Hi there, I have a 29 gallon planted tank. I have 3 ADF's and 5 female bettas. I'm having a bit of trouble feeding them. That is, the betta's are gluttons! I got my ADF's first and had them for about a month before I got the bettas last week. I hand feed my ADF's which I planned to teach them...

    Bug in aquarium/filter...?

Hey, I have afound a few tiny bugs running around the bottom of my aquarium. I sucked them out with a turkey baster I have been using to clean the sand. Today I went to check my filter because I was afraid needles from the hornwort might clog it and there were little maggot like things in it...

    African Dwarf Frogs tank mates

I read about the poor eyesight, so I was going to feed them individually or have an area (undecided). I heard you can feed them by hand...? The tank is 18 inches high but I'll only be filling it to 16 for them. I read that is the max. I'll have some things in there that meet halfway for them...

    African Dwarf Frogs tank mates

I have anubius, wisteria, java fern, cypts, and hornwort. I just finished cycling so I had it for 12 hours and I wasn't sure about changing it.. I will now. CO2 just for the plants during the cycling but I'll cut it down once I get some fish. Thanks :)

    African Dwarf Frogs tank mates

Oh ok. Didn't know that. I'm just really paranoid of getting some so I thought just to be safe. I have to add CO2 for the plants and the lights are on a 12 hour cycle (LED), so that might have it more likely to get algae?

    African Dwarf Frogs tank mates

Hello! I've been reading A LOT about what kinds of fish to get for my aquarium because I want to get three African Dwarf Frogs. First, I need an algae eater of some kind. I've been going back and forth between ghost shrimp and siamese algae eaters. I've seen things about the ghost shrimp...

Snail in tank, eating Java Fern... Good/Bad?

Lucky they didn't go after the plants! My poor Java fern is not looking too hot. Mainly on the left side of the tank. And I just saw they've been eating my wisteria too. -.-

Snail in tank, eating Java Fern... Good/Bad?

No fish yet. Still silent cycling which should hopefully be done in a few days. So they shouldn't have much of a food source other than the plants they're destroying. I'm going to have to see what fish I can get compatible with ADFs that I can get to eat them.

Snail in tank, eating Java Fern... Good/Bad?

I'm silent cycling my tank so no fish yet. I'm planning on getting African dwarf frogs which aren't compatible with loaches. Hopefully I'll get to them before it gets out of hand!

Snail in tank, eating Java Fern... Good/Bad?

Hello! I'm cycling my planted 29 gallon aquarium. It's my first one. It has two java ferns, one anubius, a few hornwort, and a few wisteria. I noticed a little snail out of nowhere a day ago when I got home from the weekend. I went to catch him and he disappeared. Found him again today on the...

Is my tank cycling properly?? Not sure about numbers

I added a good pinch the first time I did it. I saw a flake at the bottom for about 4 days and then it disappeared. Right now I can't see any of the food I already added, which was a very small amount. I figured if the tank is cycling well then it should be able to get converted quickly, if not...

Is my tank cycling properly?? Not sure about numbers

Hi there, I posted a bit ago when my numbers we not changing and they finally have. However, I'm not sure if it's stalled or supposed to be where it is it. It's a 29 gallon planted tank (anubius, two java fern, two crypts, a few wisteria, and some hornwort) , sand bottom with substrate...

Help with silent cycling- no numbers are changing!

Oh good idea. I'll gave it an extra good shake today. Readings about the same. I'll give it some more time and see if anything happens. I'm going to look into how to get the ammonia readings from my tap water to go away because I read somewhere it can read as ammonia but it's actually something...

Help with silent cycling- no numbers are changing!

Thanks! :) Ya I'm going to wait a few days and then see if anything changes. I checked the wisteria today and roots are growing off them like crazy and the other plants have shoots as well... the hornwort not so much, I'll probably take it out. Planning on adding a piece of driftwood and little...

Help with silent cycling- no numbers are changing!

Hi there, I'm setting up my first tank. I've done a tonne of research to make sure I do it right, but I'm stuck. I have a 29 gallon and I set it up 5 days ago. I have Seachem flourite and Caribsea Super Naturals sand on top. I planted an anubius, some hornwort (which made a disaster of the...
