Very nice. I'm kinda partial atm, but a betta would be my first choice. What is your set up like?

Here is a pic tonight. He is developing more red already. This photo was captured with the tank light off, which is why the blue isn't as bright. He is really starting to fan out his fins. He is still scared of the finger monster that touches the glass though.

I have a Finnex Fugeray, my substrate is eco complete.. If the vals don't succeed I might try some anubias or something.

Moving tanks can be a pain. I have moved my 75g twice now, and will again early next year. I almost sold it in anticipation of this, and I am glad I didn't now. Good luck! Great looking tank!

I am still having this film with the water level raised. The fish will be in tomorrow. I will have to lower the water level some, as I have yet to procure a top for the tank. Hopefully Friday I will be able to take care of that. I plan on lowering the water level so that it would have to jump...

Two paper towels easily removed it all. I'm going to bring the water level back up, I did have it fairly low so I could stick my hands in to maneuver plants.

So is this harmful or just ugly? Would an air stone fix this?

I have some sort of film where the current from the filter isn't strong enough to move the water a lot. Is this normal for a planted tank?

I found someone on aquabid that has dwarf cories, which I cannot find locally. The seller also has crowntails. Shipping the crowntail will not add any shipping cost, so hopefully he has some nice ones to show me.

Actually I want a crowntail, haven't decided on the color yet though. I won't be breeding my little buddy so the dominant colors really doesn't matter for me. I will definitely have to check petco out. Too bad the closest one is 30 minutes away.

Joined! I ordered frogbit, italian vals, red wendtii, dwarf hairgrass, ludwigia peruensis, and tiger lotus. Doubt I'll have room for everything, but it was cheaper to order $50 or more, than to order less than $50 once shipping was included. The plants are shipping Wednesday, be in Friday...

Thanks for the suggestions. I like the rotala magenta. Might do those towards the back, with some red wendtii crypts. I will definitely be getting some dwarf baby tears and italian vals. I might also do a small clump of frog bit. I will be using liquid co2.

Looks like I have everything I need to set up the tank ordered. Now its time to decide on plants. Any suggestion on non green plants? Any really nice red plants?
