    Green Star Polyps Spawning

Toaday I walked past my tank and saw all these pink "things" floating in the water. At first I thought my daughter threw something in the tank, but then I saw the GSPs just covered with them. I then realized the GSP were spawning. Very cool indeed. Here's a pic.

    Changing Substrate

I'm looking into changing the substrate in my tank. Currently I have a very fine sand that tends to blow around allot with any movement near the sand bed. If I happen to use my mag float to clean the glass anywhere near the sand bed I get a mini sand storm. Its become even more evident of how...

    My new Tiger Watchman Goby

Picked him up this weekend. He seems to have adjusted just fine. He's eating frozen foods ( Mysis and Blender Mush ) and has already dug out a spot under a rock. Although I must say he's creating quite a sand storm in the process. but he's a cool looking fish.

    pulsing xenia

Hey all, have a question on the best location for a pulsing xenia frag. A friend has given me a small frag and from what I've read on AA and Fantasyreef this coral grows and spreads quickly. I was thinking on placing it on a small rock located near the corner of the tank separate from the...

    Phosphates and Algae

Hey all, When I first setup up my tank I used tap water to fill it. I know I know, I shouldn't have, but its done. I, unfortunately, didn't test the tap water for Phosphates until now. My tap water shows 1PPM phosphate, yet my tank water shows none. Now as my tank is still cycling, I've left...

    Diatoms/Brown algae?

Is this a diatom/algae bloom? My tank has been running for just over a month. Its still cycling. I've been keeping the light on for a few hours a day to help some polyps that hitchhiked on the LR. So, should I be concerned? Do I have to siphon out all the brown stuff on the sand? The brown on...

    Water Flow

I have a 46G bow with one Koralia #4 in it. It seems to move the water well but is it too much? When I eventually get some fish will it be to much and prevent the fish from swimming freely about the tank? Mike
