    A growing problem

My sister sent me this picture of her betta and asked if I know what that is, she described it as a "bubble" and said it is slowly getting bigger. I'm stumped, anyone...anyone?

    snail problem

I'm not sure how to rid them from your tank either (other than a complete breakdown of the tank), but in addition to picking the snails out of the tank, look for the egg sacks and get rid of them too. With that large number of snails in a 10 gal tank I would imagine there are egg sacks all over...

Does anyone have an older betta?

An t-iasg I don't think 2 years is that old for a betta. I have a few bettas that are around that old and they are doing well. I have read that petstore bettas are genetic mutts and are inbreed alot. I would think this could cause all kinds of incurable problems in our fish as they get older...

    Tip for effective breeding?

Add lots of females, maybe 6 females to 1 male (depending on tank size). If you want to be self contained and not go to the LFS for feeders get a large tank. I had a 55 gal setup for guppy breeding when I had africans. Also Add lots of hiding places for the new fry this will increase the...

    Catching fish

you could build a 2 liter bottle trap. You may need to modify the trap or use a larger container depending on the size of the fish. http://www.floridadriftwood.com/fish_trap.htm I usually leave a large size net in the tank for a day or more so the fish get use to it and then put some food in it.

    Spider for breakfast?

Glad to hear about the spider........I hate spiders! I feed my fish bugs as often as I can. I have a tank net instead of a fly swatter. :D

    Poor LFS folks

When I worked at compUSA a guy came in and was screaming at the customer service person because a floppy disk got stuck in the floppy drive and he wanted the entire computer replaced because he had to use butter to get the floppy out and now the drive didn't work anymore. True Story.

    Bad algae problem...

Another option you may want to try is, increase your water changes, this will lower your nitrate level and starve the algae out of your tank. I do this and it works quite well as 3 of my tanks are outside on my balcony and if I don't do this they become over run very quickly.

My New Fish Bussiness. I Need Some Ideas.

Why not put male and female fish in everyones tank you could use your customers tanks as your breeding stock. I like the planted freshwater communities, they can keep you intrigued for hours looking for all the fish.

    Feeding betta fry

Dechlore is a general term I use to refer to any chemical that takes chlorine out of tap water. Yes, Tri-start will work. I use a product called "Dr. Wellfish" "stress coat".
