    Baby guppies

One of my guppies had babies 2 days ago.I wasn't prepared, and i didn't intend to keep them. But it's more than interesting to watch some of theme grow. I don't have any breeding net,or any other (unoccupied) tank.So i put 3,4 of them in a plastic bag like the ones used when we buy new fish.It...

Cyanobacteria!I hate them! I hope that u don't have a big problem. If its development is restricted, clean daily the infected areas. In general,as far as i know, there are 2 ways of confronting them: 1.Traditional: Partial water changes, less feeding, regular manual cleaning, keeping an eye on...

    Rotten fins??

I've been told that by increasing the temperature to 83 Farheneit for 48 hours, the bacterias that cause the fin rot will die.Is this a safe way to confronte them?I'm worried about the sudden temperature change and its effects to the fish health.

2 of my serpae tetras seem to have a problem with the top of their fins.Their fins become gradually white -instead of the black healthy colour- like they get rotten. The fish seem to have problem with their movement. Some months ago a goldfish had the same symptoms. It finally died. Why's that...

fish & salad (? caesar perhaps)

Well,i use a fishing line with little pieces of cucumber on it.It's a nice way to have the vegetables in the tank waiting for the fish to notice them!I tried it for the first time a few days ago.My guppies and my swordtails don't care at all. Some tetras, not all of them, nibble them. I think they...

Yesterday i bought a different form of flakes, the "Tetra Minibites".These are small pieces of flakes, and fall down to the bottom a bit fast.Very thin, and small-sized.Someone proposed me this product,as it is said to be more appropriate for smaller fish (guppies, tetras etc).Well,my guppies and my...

Hi!Well,i'm new at fishkeeping.I have a 14 gallon tank, with filter and an air-pump on it (u know, the air is coming out of the same hole that water does) and a heater.Set up about 8 months ago.Everything was ok!5 swordtails,a guppy and a pleco.Suddenly (2,3 months ago) one of the swordtails...
