Got my tank, preparing everything to set the new one up but have a question..... The undergravel filter? I know it serves no purpose in a SW tank, BUT, can I use the plates themselves to keep the rock off the bottom of the tank and if so do I put any sand under the grates or just straight on...

Why can't a lfs just tell you the truth? Maybe in this instance he just made a mistake but I just got back from a local fish store with my new "sweetlips clownfish", I asked the lfs about it and he said it was not reef safe (I don't have a reef), is peaceful and would get along with everything...

Well to make a long story short, I bought a rusty angel the other day from my lfs, lasted 2 1/2 days and was found floating on the sand with sand in it's mouth, and gills. I don't know what's up with that but it was dead none the less. :cry: Went back to the lfs and he had no more fish except...

I did this to mine to see how it would work, works great, actually gonna take a mag 9.5 and hid it behind the rock and pipe out to 3 or 4 of these "return pipes".
