    Angel Fish

:) Well actually, (depending on the type of Africans) putting the crayfish in a cichlid tank will mean a very short life for the crayfish. If the Africans are aggressive at all, they will stress the crayfish to death in no time at all with their relentless attacks, and constant bluffs. I made...

    Chipped aquarium???

Yeah, that chip may hold for 20 years... but it may also hold for only two weeks as well... There is alot of pressure on the bottom of a 100 gallon tank... :) Advise him to keep that tank someplace where 100 gallons of water damage won't be too big a problem; like the garage, or in the basement...

55 Gallon Wal-Mart Tank, Good or Bad

I have Wal-Mart's 55 gallon tank. It is a good deal for the price, but as everyone has said, the filter that comes with it is very inadequate. The money you save, by buying the tank at Wal-Mart will let you spend more on other accessories though. If you wanted a planted tank, the lights that...

    Angel Fish

I have a friend that keeps a betta with her non-mating Angels. They get along fine. The crayfish though, will eventually be a problem for you. It will kill every fish in the tank sooner or later. You will be allright for a couple of months if it is a small one. Once it is about 3 inches or...

    Powerhead for extra water movement

Although it is good to have water movement in the tank to avoid having any stagnant areas, remember that too much surface movement will drive off your CO2 in the tank, and that is not beneficial for the plants... :)

    Goldfish proof plants

Try some Vallisneria americana var americana. I have a bunch in with a solitary 7 inch Comet; the Comet rarely bothers the plants. You can also try Anubias barteri var nana. I don't know for sure, but herbivore Cichlids won't eat Anubias nana, so I doubt goldfish will either... :) Worth a try...

    tiger barbs mating????

That's right. The male TB has brighter red nose and fins than the female has (especially the dominant male). A mature female TB has a BIG belly, whether she is gravid or not (way bigger belly than the males). The eggs will surely get eaten, but some will always survive. Have a bunch of floating...

    Hagen Natural Co2 system

Here is a short 1MB avi video that shows the Hagen diffuser. Hagen Bubbler/Diffuser in Action I think it works great! To keep your CO2 mixture warm, you could also place it on your light's ballast. That should keep it warm... :)

Appropriate heater Wattage for 20gal FW tank.

A rough rule of thumb to figure out how big of a heater you need, is 5 watts per gallon. Like Logan has said, a 100w or 150w heater will be more than good enough to heat a 20 gallon tank... :) In my opinion, Ebo Jager heaters are by far the best available and most reliable and most accurate...
