I can't get a clear picture but it does look a little darker in the center of it. I just need to siphon them out? It doesn't seem to be affecting either the fish or plants so that's good news.

I am new to the whole planted tank thing amd about a week after I got my plants I started noticing these cotton ball looking things floating everywhere and on stuff. Can anyone tell me what it is and if its bad or not.

I know you can put multiple together I think the rule is 25 gallons for the first then 10 for each one after that. I do not know how to tell the sex of them however.

I like the green spotted one. Question is how many could I have in a 55. I would figure 9 would be ok using the one gallon per inch rule cause at 6 inches 9 of them would need 54 gallons. Am I right?

No I don't have a snail problem I just wanted to breed them to feed fish. I understand that they are fresher but would it really matter since I'm just going to be dropping them in there to be the puffers food?

Any others? I read online that the clowns need between 60 to 100 gallon minimum. Do I don't think a school of 4 would do good in a 55.

I was wondering if there are any fish that eat snails and what kind of snail would it be? I have a 10 gallon and thought that I could bred the snails in if thats good for them. I'm getting a 55 gallon soon that I could put the new fish in. Thanks in advance.

I think your betta looks beautiful. I have a crowntail similar to yours soi agree it doesn't look like fin rot

I like the kuhli loach personally but I'm not sure what size tank they need...

I know nothing about either fish but I would also have to say the keyhole solely on the looks of it.

I definitely will do research from now on and I will keep those rules in mind next time I go to my lfs :)

Ok thanks alot :) So a mini cycle is when I add more fish to my tank and the already established bacteria can't keep up? Is there any way I can avoid this? Maybe like only add one fish at a time? Or is it something that will always happen when adding fish? Yeah definitely. I will ask advice...

Yes i just added my 5 dime sized tiger barbs and i added my old 10 gallon filter to the tank so i have a topfin 20 and an aqueon 55 running on it since i have alot of fish in it i thought that would be a good idea... (is it?) lol

Readings are as follows: Ph 7.6 Ammonia 0.5 ppm Nitrite 0 ppm Nitrate 20-40 ppm (it was hard to pick between the two but it's definately between those two) Ok i just tested my tank and feel so stupid... i must have been reading the nitrite test instructions when i tested for nitrate earlier...
