So I've heard a bulb fir planted aquarium should be 6500k. True or false? If true does it matter if the bulb is specific for plant growth or can I find a bulb at my local hardware store that us 6500k?
My problem is getting them to feed. Unless the food hits them in the snout they do not eat. They usually are hiding so it's hard to get frozen bloodworms or brine shrimp to fall on them. Any suggestions?

If ur goldfish are happy now I wouldn't try adjusting the ph. It's more important the fish have a stable ph then what is recommended for the fish. If u start trying to adjust ur ph then u will have to adjust it every time u do a PWC. and u run the chance of a fluctuating ph which is not good.

Unfortunately my wagtail died this morning. So no pictures. I just noticed the condition on Thursday evening. I still would like any help. I would like to prevent this in the future.
Well that's the best I can describe it. I have a 10g tank with two platies and a balloon Molly. The platies are a sunburst and wagtail. Only the wagtail has what appears to be his skin peeling, like a person after a bad sunburn. It's white and covers most of his body. None of the other fish have...
