The jewel is probably my most parent like fish. He breaks up fights an the babies school around him. The lab is a general pain in the butt, I think your right about the kenyi. The older they get the more aggressive they are becoming. I'm not sure of the Acei yet he hasn't really done much to...

I'm starting up a tank for him now, get it started cycling. As for the other guys should they be fine together?

He's in with them currently, but seems to be getting nipped. I have yet to identify the culprit, they are so quick. Trying to sort out who will go together and who needs to be moved.

We ided our fave in our adopted African tank. He's a Aulunocara jacobfreibergi. I was wondering what would be the best tankmates for him? I have a 30 gallon setup with other Africans, but was considering moving him if it would be better for him ;)

So update, the tank has quieted. One of the clown loaches died ( not sure why or how) but since the occurance the whole tank has been getting along. I removed the other clown loach to my African tank. In fact the everyone has taken home in the large drift wood, and swims about quite peacefully...

Here's my thing, my lfs has fire mouths, rams, dwarfs, jacks,parrots, flower horn and convicts. I don't think any of those will be compatible in my tank. As for the clown, he's going to be the focal point of my tank, so working around him what is my best option for this tank?

Will they get along with the clown and parrot. Is there a specific dwarf cichlid species you would recommend?

This I know ;) I have a sister inlaw with a 175 set up he can graduate to, I want to watch him grow so I'm ready for that:) what do you recommend as tank mate for him?

I can see that. I really like the clown and parrot in the 55 bc they both get big. Mr.convict gets to stay bc he's been such a nice guy. I think I'm going to give jack to a friend with a bigger setup of them. I think I will just get another fish or two to go with clown and parrot in the 55...

That's what I thought, I didnt do any pairs to start bc I wanted a nonaggressive tank of about 4-6 fish. After finding out I was wrong about their native locations and such I'm at a loss in trusting the things I thought I learned.

Would adding another jack calm my male down? I thought they were more aggressive in pairs? I really can't have them attacking my clown knife or parrot. But if it will calm him down I'll try anything ;)
