    African cichlids and stinkpot turtle

I'm NOT overstocked and it's got nothing to do with you even if I was. Your opinion on my stock levels means jack.

    African cichlids and stinkpot turtle

Hardly attacking now is it? I asked a question on wether they would be ok together so didn't need a response from someone telling me MY fish tank is overstocked. Thanks anyway tho

    African cichlids and stinkpot turtle

Don't tell me I'm overstocked as it is. I have two external filters running on this thing that cycles the water 10 fold every hour and I do 50% water changes weekly. Utter rubbish

    African cichlids and stinkpot turtle

I was thinking about getting a stinkpot turtle to go in my 55g. He'd be in there with 20 african's and a bristlenose. What do you think?

    Livingstonni attacking my new venustus

Yer that's what I thought. So when I do a water change this weekend and change the hard scape around they can all find new territories and problem solved :) (hopefully)

    Livingstonni attacking my new venustus

I have a livingstonni (unsure of sex) he/she is about 3' long. Today I got a male Venustus who is only about 4cm long. I introduced the Venustus along with 9 other Malawi's so it's not because I introduced one fish at a time before anyone jumps to any conclusions. Is it just attacking him...

    Catching the little monsters!

In the end I had to empty out the 50kg of slate I have in my 55g and chase the little sod until he was exhausted...that was 2 days ago...I've just caught another one using the 'feeding time and putting pellets in the net' trick and he still remembers and was the only one that stayed hidden away lol

    Catching the little monsters!

Best tried and tested way of catching the monsters in a fully established tank. I am not prepared to empty the tank just to catch one them! Grrrrrr! Outsmarted by a fish!!

    Malawi blue crab with Mbuna

They look awesome. I've done a tiny bit of research in that they will sometimes pick off sleeping or injured fish at night or they themselves will be eaten when shedding their shell. Obvious stuff for keeping fish and crabs together. Just wanted some first hand advice. Oh and they are escape...

    Malawi blue crab with Mbuna

Has anyone kept these guys together and with any success? Only toying with the idea as think a crab would be a cool addition to my 55g African mbuna tank so any advice would be great

    Yellow Lab 'pacing'

Yes he is sub dominant to the alpha male. Perhaps that is it. Maybe I'll quarantine the alpha male for a bit and let him settle back in before introducing the alpha back and then they can fight it out between themselves

    All pond solutions 2000ef plus

Does anyone own one of these units? Had mine running for a couple of days and it runs with a dull humming noise which gets louder every 30 seconds or so for a bout a minute and then goes back to a dull hum?! I have tried tilting the filter back and fourth to get rid of any air but still...

    Yellow Lab 'pacing'

My Yellow Lab has started 'pacing' up and down the tank...all water parameters are normal so it's not a sign of poor water quality. Is this still a sign of him wanting to get to better water? Or could it be a game with his reflection or something? Might have to change the tank around so he feels...

    Do pleco eat sand

What kind of pleco is it? If its a normal pleco they grow massive and excrete a hell of a lot. Just get a smaller breed like a Bristlenose, they only grow to about 4-5 inches so less waste

    Help!!

No nothing else has changed. I put all the bio balls, ceramic rings and carbon out of old filter into new one and then squeezed all 4 wool pads over the new pads in the new canister plus priming the new filter with aquarium water from the tank. That should have been sufficient to get the filter...
