Some yellow labs as they mature usually males will get darker strips and also can/will get a dark colored nose and chin going down to the front of the belly.This is normal and your lab is a ok. I have one doing the same thing, started about two months ago.

Just had one clutch hatch last night (got about 45 survivors) and I have four more(clutches) in the tank. I will leave them there and let them(snails) fall into the tank, then when big enough sell or disperse into my 4 tanks. This is the first of 5 clutches that hatched in 5 months.

i have a uv sterilizer in my tanks and i love it. Best thing i did for my tanks. Crystal clear water and it even cleared up my cloudy brackish water tank which had a hella bacteria bloom going on.
