Expose the top and wait two days. Your 1.022 will be 1.024 - keep it there. What do you use to measure?

    Cheap ebay PC Bulbs

Anybody have lousy luck with the cheaper ebay PC bulbs? Wondering if it's my setup?? I bought four 32W 50/50 bulbs from altechnik. I only paid $49 for all, with shipping. They each burned out within two weeks! Anybody experience significant quality differences in bulbs?? Thanks.

    HQI vs Mogul

    Yes, it's a 48x24x24.

    HQI vs Mogul

What are the the issues in deciding between the two? I'm upgrading my 55 gal to a 120 gal. I currently have 2x175 MH with mogul base and was wondering if a 2x250 HQI would be better??

    water temp

Many say that's way too high. That's always been confusing to me since the world's reefs average about 81/82 all year. I keep mine about 81 and all seems fine.

    Which clowns most easily host?

I have a new BTA that's doing well and was wondering which clowns would most likely host his fellow? Thanks.

    Dwarf Lionfish

You all make the assumption that I intend to keep this tang and friends until it can't turn around. Poor and yes, arrogant, assumption. I've kept tanks for ten years now. Although I won't claim to be the "experts" on this board, I've learned a thing or two and I approach this hobby quite...

    Dwarf Lionfish

Ok, maybe the lion is a poor choice for this tank - that's why I asked, thank you. As for a 55g not having enough room for a 3" tang - are you serious? Are you saying that owners of 55s out there only stock with 1 or 2 fish under 3"?? That's hilarious. Over stocked?? Has this board gone...

Would Seio PHs be too much?

MT79, ellisz, where have you heard of these probelms? Thanks.

Would Seio PHs be too much?

Awesome, thanks! I think I'll give them a try.

    Dwarf Lionfish

Well, my Trigger is just over an inch long and the Sohal is just twice that. And right now, they're healthy and happy as could be. The Sohal eats nori right from my hand and is full, colorful and voracious. Same with the Trigger so I think they're just fine.

Would Seio PHs be too much?

Wow, roka, those look pretty cool. Does the mag work good at holding them? I hate the suction cup thing. They always need replacing and funbling with. They're a lot smaller than the Seios as well?? How long have you been running them? Thanks!

    Dwarf Lionfish

I have a 55 gal reef with several softies, a Niger Trigger, Coral Beauty and small (3") sohal tang that's just awesome. Would a Dwarf Lion work here?

Would Seio PHs be too much?

I have a 55 reef and need to replace my maxi-jets. Would a pair of Seio M620 (620gph each) be too much? I currently have 3 MJ900s totaling ~700gph with my sump pump at about 300 gph. Which would be a preferred setup for a reef? 2 Seios M620s or 3 maxis MJ900s?

    NeedJoe's Juice Recipe

I have a Trigger. I think he'll off those peppys. Thanks for the lead! P.S. In case anybody's wondering, I have no intention selling or profiting from this recipe. Just want to make a large batch for a large problem.

    Anybody try this stuff?

    NeedJoe's Juice Recipe

Ok, I've been lazy. Now I need about a gallon of JJ but I really don't want to spend $100 on a dozen little kits. I've seen the recipe before. Could someone please point me there? Thanks!

What are some low light corals?

I love mushrooms. Colorful, diverse and very easy to keep.

    Equipment for drip acclimation

Yup, I agree, it's not rocket science. Personally, I like the float and add water method anyhow. That way, after 2-3 hours, I don't need to worry about placing a heater in my drip bucket because the temp dropped 5°-10°. I clip the bag to the side of the tank. Every 10-20- minutes, I walk...

What do u guys think of this??

How are you going to feed the intake? A standard overflow will flow only about 1/2 of what you're expecting.

    retrofit metal halides

I love my setup from cooltouchlighting.com. Bought mine from their ebay add but you can just as well from the website. Top quality and far cheaper than that gizmo from your link.
