Yes, two problems. I'm pregnant and cannot handle pure ammonia. And I'm pregnant and the smell of raw shrimp makes me sick at the moment. LOL

I have no chlorine in my water. It's well water AND has been tested for it. Do I still need a water conditioner or dechlorinater? [Edit] Also, when should I add the aquarium salt? When I first set the tank up?

I understand that, BUT my ammonia had gone from 0 to 1.5 in 12 hours and then all fish dies about 6 hours later. 2 catfish and the frog had the slime. All of the other fish had the same symptoms as the frog and catfish except the slime.

I have to sterilize my tank, gravel and decor. How should I go about this? Boil? Bleach?

Well, I like the slow ones, but my husband likes the really fast ones. So, kinda both. Our tank isn't cycled yet so do we need the "stress- zyme"?

What fish should I begin my 29g tank with? And how many? I know I need something strong and probably inexpensive, right? So far, I've heard danios and guppies. Any other suggestions? Also, I want to put live plants in my tank. What kind and when should I do this? Thanks!

With the raw shrimp am I putting my tank at risk for any diseases? Where can I find pure ammonia? Everywhere I've looked it's a detergent.

Thanks everyone for your help. I took the frog out and he has some water and a "lily pad". I'm assuming he will be okay(Better than if he was in the tank). So, I guess I just let the tank run until I have no ammonia and nitrite?

I didn't mean day one of the tank setup, but with the fish on the 1st of Jan.

The onyl thing I can think of is I have 5 plant bulbs in the tank that have been in there since day one. They haven't sprouted yet, but aren't supposed to until the 15th of this month. Other than that I don't know what it could be. The ammonia is now 2.

rubysoho, I'm about 20 minutes from Greensboro, NC. I've been going to Aquamain. It's a really good fish place. This one guy there has been saying the same things. He said the only reason why I had to add more danios was to speed up the nitrogen cycle because I didn't have enough fish.

Okay, I did the 30% PWC about 12 hours ago. Here are my new parameters: Temp 78 pH 7.0 Ammonia 1 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 0 My fish look like there still dieing and I know my ammonia is too high still. Is there anything else I can do? How long should I wait to do another PWC? :cry:

Okay, I did my water change last night. 2 more danios died. That means I only have one guppy (barely hangin on), on danio and a frog in a 29 gallon tank. What do I do now?

Thank you so much. I did a 30% water change immediately and all the fish seem so much happier already. I was wondering why my tank spelled so bad. We will see how things go.

Also, I meant to add that I have well water so it's virtually clean to begin with. Oh, and also when I added the fish I let the bag sit on top of the water for about 30 minutes then added them.
