I have to sterilize my tank, gravel, and decor. Bleach? Boiling? How should I go about this.

A bleach solution, 20%, works well. Just make sure you rinse, rinse and rinse agin. Put every thing in the tank, fill, and add 2 or 3 times the dose of declor. I like to let it set for several days, then drain and refill. Time to start the cycle period.

personally, i am opposed to the bleach method. But that is just me. I use the heating method. By baking, boiling and even rinsing with hot water, i find that it works jsut as well and you don't really have to risk it using bleach (plus the fact that if you get any on your clothes ... well, we all know possible outcomes). again, this is just my opinion
