Thank you everyone for the advise. One more question. If the ones I picked up are male and female, how do they breed or does anyone have any advise on Oscar breeding.

My oscars are about 2.5" and they are currently in a 29 gal tank. I'm assuming they aren't going to grow that quick so when I get my apartment in a couple months I'm probably moving them to a 90gal or 140gal tank.

I am going to be getting an orange spotted eel soon and I was wondering if my cichlids or oscars would eat it. The cichlids are, at max, 3" and the oscars are 2.5" and the eel is supposed to be 6". Thoughts?

Also be aware that the gravid spot may not be gone after dropping. It is possible for a guppy to hold on to some of the fry and drop them at a later time.

I have read that live bearers can be pregnant for a long period of time and drop a couple of weeks apart. I currently have a guppy that dropped 3 fry last week but the gravid spot is still black so I'm assuming she'll drop again soon. Hope this helps a little.

Another question is what kind of food would they eat? Could they have crickets? Worms?

So I'm not sure about my Stuartgranti's color because they had a more plain color and now they are black with yellow tips. Why are they this color? I thought they were supposed to be blue. Also the mom chases the son and daughter all around, why is this?

I have the master kit and it says the nitrites are really high, what kind of stuff should I get to treat this? I just don't know what happened. The tank was fine for the week then I got the fish and a week later the nitrites are really high.
