HI, I have a 30gl tank 30"w 13"d 19"t and I have a 30 watt T5 light right now but I feel Im not getting a good amount of light from this set up. does anyone have any suggestions? I have been looking in to the 30" Odyssea quad T5 6500k but someone suggested that that might be to much. any thoughts?

Iv used excel in my tank now for 2 years, twice the dose, once a week, and iv never had an issue. I do WC every 2 weeks and besides my pleco up rooting half my plants and a few them dying from constantly being replanted they'v done great, and Iv never used co2.

Thanks! I checked on him just now and it looks like the whit speck on his back that I thought was Ich is gone so I guess raising the temp with the salt helped with that. I was planing on doing a water change then starting with the meds the LFS gave me for fungal infections and see how that goes...

oh ya, both me and my LFS tested my water and its all good: ph 7.6, Ammonia 0ppm, N02- 0ppm, N03- 20ppm. the tank has been running with fish in it for about a year. I have not done a water change in 4 days and I have a emperor 400 filter. I added a few photos.

its hard to tell from that picture and its also very hard to tell when there young. It looks like a male to me (but Im by far no expert). ok Ill get find a good full spectrum bulb. That makes a lot of sense about the gravel with light absorption (Peteostler43614). Iv been told I should have about 1w per gallon, so Ill look for a 35w planted tank bulb to account for the bright gravel.
