It's been about 4 weeks this coming tuesday that I have been cycling my tank. I am cycling with fish.
Today I woke to a cloudy tank. I'll break down some info so maybe a solution can be found.
I have 4 fish ( Not added all at once.) 2 Zebra danios ( my starter fish) and 2 juli cory cats...
That's what everyone is telling me. Gouramis must rule. I'll have to go get one after my tank is through cycling. :D So I think that's set then for what is going to be in my tank.
4 Zebra danios
3 cory cats
1 Dwarf Gourami.
I have black gravel and I hope to use other plants and...
What got me into fish was every time I went to the pet store I would go into the fish section to see the fish. I always wanted to keep fish. I have a zoo at home but I just wanted to get into fish. So I got this betta. He lives in this gallon set up. I got him a female lady friend but... it was...
Well I was bad today. I ended up getting two Juli corys. It was love a first sight. I know I should've waited... but I adjusted for an ammonia spike. I tested after an hour of putting the corys in and nailed that ammonia spike. I'll just keep on testing my water religiously the next couple of...
I've been 50% because I was worried about the fish's stress level. But if you think 25% would be ok too.. your logic makes sense to me. I was doing 25% before.
Yeah bettas are a hit and miss. It all depends on the kind of personality. I have a betta that just can't stand anyone in his territory, including me. He's mr. grumpy gills in a nut shell.
As for me I'm doing something unconventional for my 10 gallon only because of my circumstances and lack...
LOL Two different sites tell me two different things about fish in cycling. Guess its just take it slow like I initially said. Aquarium keeping isn't an exact science I suppose.
I'm in the process of doing one as well. It is not as bad as people claim. I just don't like looking at an empty aquarium and I test and water change daily. It's not that bad if you keep up on it.
Though once you cycle for that fish, you're going to have a mini cycle whenever you add more. And...
My Zebras are doing very well during this whole process. I've also kept a very sharp close eye on the water conditions. They haven't shown any signs of stress at all.
Well with these two fish I've had significant ammonia spikes. .25 to .50 ppm. I've cut feeding them to about once every other day. Today is their feeding day, however.
Well I scoped around my three LFS. The last one was a new shop but it was horrible... they had puppy mill dogs and poor kittens *shudders* Oh I left right when I saw those poor dogs and the fish being forced to live together when they don't get along...
Anyways... I did not find Endlers or...
Whenever I have doubts I usually test. There isn't any harm in doing another test if you think there was another spike. It's better safe then sorry. But also you want to make sure you have enough ammonia and nitrite so your Good bacteria have some munchies to snack on. If you get rid of all your...
