Not really much of a difference, the tank raised tend to be a little hardier than the wild because they have spent their life in the tank so the shock factor is not as bad, But I know people who have had great luck with either.

You know I did notice the day before that my giant cup spit something out. But it didn't have the white gel around it. Maybe you right and that just came later.

I agree, think about it long and hard I got PC lights for mine and run about 3.1 WPG and now of course I want all the corals I can't have. I can still have quite a few corals and my tank looks great. But still saving for MH for the future.

Sorry to hear about the tang, I run a copper in mine and put them in there for 3 weeks before they go in my display tank. it helps to get rid of any diseases.
