    Breeding ghost shrimp?

Ghost shrimp go through a larval stage. I've never bred them before, but here's a very informative link on the subject: http://www.fishforums.com/forum/invertebrates/17996-breeding-ghost-shrimp-palaeomonetes-patulous.html

Breeding fish in kiddie pools and stock tanks-II

What do you do about the local wildlife? I imagine pools full of fish would be irresistible to raccoons, etc. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Aquarium Advice mobile app

    RCS Gender

Awesome! I'd read up on identification, but this is my first time actually seeing the difference in person. Thanks!

I've been trying to start a colony, but I seem to only be getting females. Is this finally a male I see?!

    So, what's the explanation here?

Are both of the snails in the first picture? I spy with my little eye, a nerite snail.

    Upgrade Lighting

Oh my that looks lovely! I'll have to save up for that and schmooze my wife some. My plants seem to be doing ok. Surviving at least. Will my plants be ok with this current setup for a while, or am I wasting my time without better lighting?

    Upgrade Lighting

I have a Seaclear 20g which is a fine tank, but I have the urge to upgrade the lighting. My problem is that the tank has a prefab acrylic lid so I can't use a light that sits on the rim. I have read several reviews of the tank that recommended upgrading the lighting, but none of them suggested...

3 new Neritina snail not moving...

Have you done the sniff test? Take them out and smell them. If they stink, they're dead. My nerites will sometimes go a day or two with little to no activity. Where are they in the tank?

Ah, that's unfortunate. Can't wait to see the tank all set up, goo luck.

    [help] Identification

I spread it out and repositioned for better light and now it seems to be growing quite well. It's still shedding the occasional lower leaf, but all seems well. I plan to trim them up and hopefully get them a little bushier especially lower down. Can I just trim the bottom off to the height I...

    Fishy Update and Question

I'm pretty new to this so I'm gonna leave the water change to someone with more knowledge (I'm doing about 20% each week). It sounds like your newcomer is eating the mollies slime coat which is not good for it, so I'd separate them and probably return the new guy. Again, I'm new to this so I...

    Getting back to it

Oh I'd thought they were the same size as ghosts. Is there a more interesting shrimp that I could use in this setup? Ghosts are fun, but I'd like something with color eventually. Crystal shrimp maybe?

    Getting back to it

Thanks for the input! I'd expected the livebearers to be fruitful and multiply. I have a buddy who's just getting started as well and will be taking any of my survivors. I'm also wanting at some point to give him my ghost shrimp and replace them with red cherries, but I'm concerned about them...

    [help] Identification

A little while back I bought a plant that I thought looked cool. Foolish me, I hadn't done my research and of course I didn't save any of the information about it. I'm concerned that it may only be semi-aquatic and is fully submerged. Any help is much appreciated.

    Getting back to it

As a child I had a guppy tank (30ish gallons?). I've wanted to get back into it and now have a 20g. I did my research while the tank matured and had a plan, but my wife wanted more vibrant colors. I had already stocked 6 zebra danios and 10 ghost shrimp. On a whim (my bad) we went and got 3...
