Man I still have a lot to learn about what grows in my tank! LOL

I took Fluff's suggestion and got a bottle of Joes Juice. This stuff is as good as it said it was. In about three minutes the aptasia were all dead. It only took a little on each mouth and they were done for. Pete

Any idea what these neat things are that are growing on my LR? I feed them algae chips and they seem to love them. They just started appearing about a month ago. I just want to make sure I don't do anything that will kill them. Thanks Pete

This may seem like a stupid question but will the snails reporduce in my tank? I hate to think that I have to keep buying new snails as the older ones die off or get eaten by the hermit crabs. Thanks Pete

What's this? I have several growing on my LR. They eat algae chips like there going out of style if catches one.

It's a 75 gal with 60 lbs LR, protein skimmer and power head.

I have two snails that have passed on to bigger and better things. Do I leave them in the tank so their shells can be reused or do I thake them out and dispose of them? :roll:

Old Castle Playsand I contacted Old Castle in Delaware. They advised that the sand was mined from the Delware beaches and is safe for aquariums. I bought 200 lbs and it's been in my tank for two months witn no problems. Pete

I finally got some live rock, 31 lbs for my 75 gal tank. This is the first thing I saw so far. What is it and should I keep it? This finding stuff on rock is cool! :)

You'll need to ask someone who has had one for a while. I'm just starting my tank and haven't added the live rock yet. That happens in two weeks after I get back from vacation.

I know how you feel. My directions said to close the venturi air valve all the way then open it 1/2 to 1 turn. Did say how it was suppose to look after I did that. I checked it after about 3/4 of a turn on and saw a really good tornado swerl going so I figured that was what it should look like...

Thanks for the reply. A new set up is an understatement. It's taken me a over a year to get this far. Between the books and web pages there's alot of information to try and remember. I'm just taking it nice and slow. Sometimes I think if I go any slower I'll go backwards, but it's alot better...

I just added the prescribed amount of water conditioner to my 75 gal tank. The directions didn't say how long it took to work. Anyone have a thought on how long I should wait before adding my salt? Thanks Pete
