    Amazons

In my experience, certain plants grow different with pressurized co2. My swords did the same thing they'd get super bushy but never passed 6". My crypts would also grow differently, the stems, I guess u could call them, would grow very long and the leaves would be shorter. Once I got co2 into...

    plants to lower ammonia?

Try leaving the tested water in the vile over night or maybe even a day. I know it says 5 min in the instructions but that seems to be the only way for my ammonia to read 0. The water in my area comes out at 0.5 ammonia. I've had my 40g which is probably around 50% stocked with an aqueon 55/75...

    New to planting

I would say it is a lack of lighting. What are the dimensions? I'd assume it's too tall of a tank for a 18" or even a 24" t8 bulb. It's hard to tell how much lighting your tank gets from the sun, usually only enough to grow algae lol. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Can coralife 10k bulbs grow low light plants?

What type of bulbs t8, t5, t5ho, etc? I grew low light plants just fine with dual t5's 10k bulbs on my 40b. The kelvin ratings isn't as important as long as it's not too far about 10k. But regardless 10g are pretty short so even if your bulbs are T8's I think you'd still be safe :) Sent from...

    ADA Aqua soil + Eco-Complete?

Sorry for the delay, but here's the pic. I like the mixture because certain plants are easier to root in sand and some do better in the Eco. So some spots are sand or Eco heavy but it still looks nice to me. I'm sure if I had more Eco it would dominate the top like brookster said but I'm happy...

    ADA Aqua soil + Eco-Complete?

I have Eco and Ada mixed and I actually really like it. It's about 1/3 Eco and 2/3 ada, the Eco helps loosen up the sand and makes it not so compact. I can post a pic later if you'd like. But if you want to go with a cap definitely cap with the Eco. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Co2 diffuser and intake

Will placing my co2 diffuser before the filter intake damage the filter? It's a sun sun 302. I know people do that with DIY co2 and hob filters and some say it can damage the impeller. Will be permanent until i get a reactor but I feel the co2 bubbles aren't diffused well enough with just the...

    For Sale: Plants for sale

I'm using a finnex planted+ and co2 injected with dry ferts and DIY root tabs. Red plants usually need a good amount of light to stay red and the purple swords didn't do well without co2 when the tank was low tech, sorry :( Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
