Wow, fish are hard to take care of!!

I just checked out some cannister filters for my 50gal. I have common goldfish 3" to 7" and a foot long spotted pleco, they were all an inch when purchased! Anyway, cannister filters are rad and Marineland makes a H.O.T. model I'm in love with. Thanks for the heads up!!

Thanks for the feedback. Obviously you have been through the cycle and I appreciate your advice and foresight. I'm not that into fancy goldfish, but I'll make sure my next pick will stay comfy in a 50gal. My Respect & Regards, Mike.

Is it okay to use my vacuum every other day cause my goldfish and pleco are filthy, God Bless them. That ends up being close to a 20% water change after vacuuming the tank. Is that okay?

I want to try the Fluval internal. My fish are like my kids. I have a Fluval in my 10gal, where I keep my 2 Black/White skirted tetras, and it stays crystal clean. I not that experienced, but Fluval has shown its great performance to me.

You can't mix certain kinfs of fish.

Someone mentioned amonia to me. Could thst be the problem?

What's in your tank You've been running it 6 weeks and still cloudy? What kind of fish and filtration do you have? I need a test kit, and maybe you need one too.:banghead:

Penn plax cascade 400 and Whisper Flow H.O.B. for now. I'm going to get a Fluval internal to add to it I think.
