My catfish have red marks near the front. I don't know if its because of disease or being bitten. Is it even possible for other fish to bite corydoras near the front? I heard that they have bony plates. Thank you.

I bought a lid that can only fit one 17 watt light bulb for a 29 gallon tank. Is there any way I can possibly add another light maybe a lamp on the side or something?
How do I know if my gravel is smooth enough for bottom fish like corys? It should have been smooth enough before I may have roughened it by rubbing it together while cleaning. :cool:

I recently bought plants and added tetra safestart bacteria and started the fishless cycling with ammonia. i just read though that the bacteria and plants might compete for the ammonia and the plants will absorb it quicker, and that I should not start the fishless cycling with plants.
