Same here.. that first 2wks with some are tricky. If you're under the 2wk mark you can always put them in a baggie and take in a cup of your water sample, 90% of the time.. they refund/replace the fish you've lost.

For one.. The fish were dead. The tank was once an on going tank.. I had to tear it down because of a complete snail overhaul. I got Tetras to go in it with my Betta and ADFs. I have an easier time cycling because I have well water fed from an underground stream.

PetSmart has an Aqueon Betta Bow2.5 it comes with the whole setup, my g.f has one and has frogs in it. They're quite nice.. Edit.. a black one for a few $$ cheaper and it comes with a separating screen.
