If it makes you feel any better my powerheads are constantly in awful shape from the algae growing on them.

Thank you cickid and ashley! Im not sure the make and model but ill let you know when i get home. I also snapped off a few shots of the dragon wrasse and marine betta earlier, not the best (cause they are quick)

Ugh! So the led idea has been swimming around in my head again. Im on rapidleds website and im trying to sort out a plan of attack for this. First things first- my end goal with this upgrade is to be able to house any coral i could want, possibly even clams (may be a stretch) i more than likely wont be gojng to the highest light corals but i want to be ready if i decide to down the road.
Alright so now the planning part. I know that in order to get even coverage, ill need 3 fixtures. I was planning on doing 3 6"x20" black anodize aluminum heat sinks, but i may use 2 6"x10" for the left and right side. Im not sure as to the color setup that im going with yet but im almost certain that the majority will be in 90 degree lens, except for the outermost row on the left and right, they will be 60 degree to cut down on lightsplash outside the tank. Not sure if im going the y-shaped hanging mounts or if i want to fashion up my own wall mounts... Sooo many decisions lol. Well thats all i got for now but as the setup comes to fruitation ill be sure to share. And as always, comments or suggestions are welcome

Ashley, its not a brand new model, just new to us.
Alyxx, thank you sooo much!! Its really not so much about getting the right shot as it is being patient enough to capture said pic. I think im going to start sitting down in front of my tank once a week to take photos

Ok.. I also have a kodak, a great camera with awesome pics. Makes me sick when i think i paid $1000 for it 10 years ago and now the same spec camera is $90. I love taking pics also of my fish.

love the pics Ash!! I don't know how, but you managed to share a pic that has my 2 favorite sw fish in it! Ive had both a black Volitan and a fuzzy dwarf lion (lost the Vol. to tank failure and the fdl to an unknown disease) and ive had an Aussie H. tusk ( didn't make it out of juvenile coloration (tank failure). I can feel the hobby starting to pull me back in again ferociously lol. im soo glad we got this newer camera because now I can share the amazing images that I get to witness everyday.
speaking of that, I have some new pics that I need to comb through and upload.

as for tank progress info... hoping to get the LED fixture situation finalized and tighted down here in the next week or two. Big things are coming in the near future for our tank and im overly excited to see the results we get. its 7:46 am here now so in a few hours im going to be pulling the skimmer out and heading to lowes to finally solve this performance issue once and for all. I was against it till now, but im going to throttle back the intake side about 10-15% in order to get the skimmer head level down to a manageable height. then Ill use the stand tube adjustment to fine tune it. pics here soon.

The skimmer is Finally up and running! Had to put the ball valve on the intake side but im only limiting the pump about 15-20%. After talking it over with a few others we all agreed that this slight throttling back wont cause any immediate problems with the pump. Even within 10 minutes its already pulling stuff out! Cant wait to see what itll pull after a day or so

Forgot the pics... Duhh
