I have 125 gallon freshwater tank with plants, fish and a turtle. Currently am lighting with just my two 150 watt UVA/UVB compact fluorescents. They are more for my basking platform, for rest of tank should I go fluorescent, LED or even halide?

Currently have no top, but could make a custom canopy if needed. Also not running Co2

I've heard good things about these you might want to have someone who knows more about lights delve into them more but these are the satellite's made by current USA look at the LED+ models wireless remote and you can do simulated thunderstorms and stuff way cool

Note sure how wide your tank is.

I'm a complete newbie to lighting, what's the deal with satellites versus a regular LED? My tank is 125 which I thought were all 72" but mines only 60" maybe it is only a 120 gallon?

Thank you for link that looks like my budget. Nothing that will break the bank lol
