Hi guys. I have a 20 gallon long tank with 2 platy in it. I need some help with stocking, because the water in my area is very hard, the ph is around 8. I'm not a fan of guppies, mollies, or swordtails, which most people usually recommend. I'd like to get 1 more platy though.

Are there any tetras that do ok in harder water?

Also, can I get 1 bolivian ram as a centerpeice?

What do you think, how would you stock this?

Thanks for the help!

I love platies, great pick IMO.

IME stuff like danios and barbs do much better in had water than tetras or other amazonian fish. I am sure there is a great small cichlid that would be a great centerpiece, I don't think Bolivian rams like hard water though. If I am mistaken then try them out.

Bolivian rams should do okay, but no other kinds like German blues, or German gold. Try some honey Gouramis, and kudos on the platy decision.
