33usg stocking options

Ok I've reached the point where I need to decide what to stock in my 33usg tank.

Vote for your favourite option below, but feel free to suggest changes:

Option 1
School of harlequin rasbora
Red dwarf gourami
Yoyo loaches
School of rummynose tetras
Shrimp

Option 2
Lots of fancy guppies (how many?)
Angelfish
Shrimp

Option 3
Lots of fancy guppies (how many?)
Betta
Shrimp

Not sure which way to go with this...

1 angelfish
2 german blue rams
5-8 kuhil loaches
1 albino BN pleco.......

Should be okay if you keep up on water changes and have proper filtration..

It's 3ft wide x 18" high x 12" deep.

The light on the tank is rubbish and I'm struggling to keep plants for very long. They seem to die within a few weeks. Might have to go with fake ones, with just a few live ones.

Fish option looks interesting though

I just like option one better IMO I love my harlequin rasboras, they're great fish

Yes, you can keep an angelfish in a tank of that size.

My opinions on what you have listed:

Option 1
School of harlequin rasbora
Red dwarf gourami
Yoyo loaches
School of rummynose tetras
Shrimp
This would work fine. Most of those fish will pick off baby shrimp and the dwarf gourami may even eat adults. Larger shrimp like amanos would be fine.

Option 2
Lots of fancy guppies (how many?)
Angelfish
Shrimp
Angelfish may grow large enough to eat adult guppies. I had one eat a cory once.

Option 3
Lots of fancy guppies (how many?)
Betta
Shrimp
Betta and guppies aren't usually a great mix IMO. Bettas don't really get along with other long finned fish, and that can spell bad news for the guppies.

Gboy's stock list would work fine with the exception of maybe the kuhlis or pleco- the rams stay mostly at the bottom of the tank so that's just a lot going on in terms of bottom dwellers. I would pick either the pleco or the kuhlis, but not both, and increase the number of tetras to 10-12.

Think i will go with a dwarf gourami rather than an angel.
