We started reefing a little over a year ago with our fist tank a 65g 36x18x24 and we were hooked the tank was awesome but we felt like we needed a but more room. Here is a pic of the old tank.ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1421111304.348349.jpg. It just so happened I built the stand for a bigger tank. Plus our lighting & skimmer were the right size for a upgrade later. So I broke down the reef and slid the new tank in its place. I used all of the old tanks water and I didn't touch the sump it's a 30g sump w/refugium. I had a mp40w on the 65 and my wife decided on second mp40 but this one is es :) when I sent her to the lfs for a hydor wave maker to save us money on the upgrade.

So I packed the siphoned out the tank water into afew 30g bins and moved all the LR and fish over for holding. Then with some helped swapped out the 65 for the 120 and refilled it with the old tank water and 60g of new water so it's like I did a 50% water change on the new tank well that's what I am hoping for at least.

Here is the 120 the corals are all over the sand bed and the LR isn't in its final positioning but it definitely feels more roomy and this is night time shot ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1421114496.483848.jpg

I did I also added 40lbs of fresh live sand. I found the idea for washing the sand on a forum. I when I took everything out I left a few gallons of tank water in and mixed the sand up really good making the water black then piled the sand to one side and siphoned out the dirty water.

Haven't been able to update this thing in a while so here's a update all the fish died two months ago haven't added any fish yet. Going to the keys this Wednesday though I live in Florida and am thinking of maybe catching a fish outside the protected sanctuary of course to quarantine in the tank since It's empty.

What killed the fish?
What kind of fish are you thinking of stocking now?
You got a lot of corals , do you need fish?

I'm not sure what caused it but ich and within two days everyone was gone. Nothing came back in the test, did water changes but i was getting this slimy film looking stuff everywhere. The film all went away a couple weeks after the fish. But I would like a couple hardy fish for movement in the tank it looks empty now.
