M planning on upgrading from a 20l to a 40 breeder. I was wondering what if any cichlid I could keep in there other than the typical rams/geophagus. The dimensions are 36x18x16.

If you are doing a breeding group you could get away with most mbunas but that size tank wouldn't be very good for a mixed group with their aggression..you'll get mixed opinions though a lot of people will say 4ft tanks only but the 40s have a lot of floor space

I was potentially thinking species tank or some other type. Are there any less aggressive mixes of Africans that can turn out well?
