So Im wanting to upgrade the lighting on my Aqueon 45G. Currently I just have the single florescent bulb hood fixture that came with the tank. Dimensions are roughly 36" x 12".
Im thinking I must have picked an oddball sized tank because Im not really finding many choices online.
What I'd like to have is something appropriate for my plants and fish (freshwater) during the day and then the lunar lighting for night. Ideally both on separate plugs so I can have them on different timers.
Are the canopy style lighting designed for marine tanks like the Lunar Aqualight HO T-5 also good for freshwater tanks? HO T5 Aquarium Light Fixture: Coralife Lunar Aqualight HO T5 Aquarium Light Fixture
And if I were to get a canopy, Im assuming I would need some sort of glass covering for the tank to prevent my fish from jumping out. This is also proving difficult.
I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions.
