I like the idea of two filters over one so that if one were to fail you don't have to worry as much. Also its nice when cleaning the filter you can do alternating cleaning and worry about killing you bb.
I just went through this myself, I have a 50g and a 55g I am setting up. my current 40 has a penguin 350 HOB.. I had gotten a good deal on a 405 so that was going to be for the 55g, I was going to do 2 HOB on the 50g but decided on another 405..
so I vote 405 and I not set-up either of my new tanks.. LOL (need to build stands)
