Hi everyone
I just purchased a 58 gallon tank 36"L x 18"W x 21"H tank. Planning to buy a T5HO 39w x 2 6500k. It gives me 1.34 wpg. Since it is HO unit does this give me low light or medium light for my tank?

Thank you in advance.

I'm pretty sure it'd be low lighting. I'm no expert at lighting but 2 x 39 watts = approx 80 watts (and at 6500 k...) You'll need 150-200 watts for it to be medium light I think...

Thats good coz I am aiming for medium low light so I can avoid co2. How long do I need to turn my light on for medium low light? Any advice to avoid algae outbreak? Thank you

I would run the lights 10 hours at first, if you see algae you can back it down to eight. Use a timer makes things much easier.
