I have been reading bigger tanks are better for someone new at the hobby because it's not in as tight quarters and that a lot of people upgrade anyway. I read that a bigger tanks leave you with less problems. I recently asked what size tank is a good tank. After the responses I think I am going to go with a bigger tank. Probably going to go with 40g or more any opinions?

I just started and went with a 55gal. So far it has been enjoyable for me and my son. Just be patient with the cycle. There is some really good advice on this forum and using the guide I found to cycle really helped and within 35days we were stocking the tank.

It's really going to depend on what you want to stock ultimately. 40g is a good place to start. My first tank was a 55. Any thoughts on fish yet?
