Here are some pics of a skimmer and a bunch of corals that I got from a guy on craigslist for $100. If anyone knows what kind of skimmer this is I would like to know.

The skimmer - What kind is it? Also, should I take it apart and completely clean it since I won't be using it for months?

Are the corals what I think they are? Would it be best to disassemble the skimmer and thoroughly clean it, since I will either be reselling it or storing it for 6 months to a year?

Any advice on breaking down the skimmer? I won't be using it in the near future. Will it come completely apart for cleaning?

I would juts clean it the best you can and store it. Maybe use a vinegar/water solution to get the crunchies off of it. :-D

Most likely no. Some of the smaller hang on ones do come apart but it should be self evident by looking at it I'd think. ;-)

Thanks Sniper! I have a 40g in the garage that is empty. Run it in there for a couple days in a vinegar/water solution. 50/50 mix or less? Will help clean out the tank at the same time..,LOL!

So, if you noticed in the pictures, the guy that I got the skimmer from cut off the flexible hose that dumps water back into the tank. I called coralife to find out were to buy a replacement and they said they will send me one. Free of charge! Great customer service! And the new one will be the new style that has the foam on it, instead of the hose with a box that attaches to the tank to catch the overflow. Totally happy with coralife!
