First of all, I've been testing my new 5 gallon tank and can't get a reading on amm, trItes, or trAtes. I seeded the new filter with some media from my established tank 2 weeks ago...and still nothing. I only have a betta in the tank so I wonder if that is a sufficient source of ammonia. Surely it is, plus the extra pellet or 2 that he doesn't eat.
Secondly, I awoke this morning to find my little angel dead. He's been eating and seemed very happy and healthy. My test results are great...amm-0, trItes-0, trAtes-10, ph-7.6. I've had him for a couple of weeks. I've heard angels can be tricky to keep. Is my ph too low?
