I float the bag and every 15 minutes I remove 1/2 cup of water and add 1/2 of my water for 60 to 90 minutes. I do this for everything I put in my tank. It's worked for me the last 3 years I've been in this hobby.

When acclimating fish I remove half of water from bag and hang it at the side of DT and add water from tank about 1/4 cup every 5 min. When it gets to original bag level remove half again and so on until parameter equates. Acclimating corals usually involves coral dip. I use drip method usually not less that 2 hours with bag in small box with water and heater so temp always same as DT.

I use the drip method, run a piece of airline tubing from the tank and siphon tank water into the bag (I put the bag in a bucket also) then I put a loose knot in the line so it literally drips into the bag. I do this until the water volume has more than doubled, usually takes an hour or more...
