I know they are for salt water but does anyone use them for freshwater. I have all tetras of different kinds in my 75 and I like the look of this type of bulb but I dont want to bring any of the fish harm. Ni live plants in the tank. I had 50-50 sunlight bulbs in the fixture, The bulbs are fluorescent and square pin, Maybe use one of each?

I've got one 10,000k and one actinic bulb over my 150g mbuna tank. The actinics wont grow algae, which means I can have the lights on without as much worry, and they really make the colors of the fish come out too :)

I have one bujlb each on my setup. I found out that the reds do not show up well under acintic bulb
