So I've decided to add flora-max substrate to my 10 gallon aquarium, I've read a little bit about the side effects on my aquarium but, I'm not 100% sure as to how one goes about the process.

The basics like, where you put the fish, do you take out all of the old substrate if not how much should you remover, how long will it take, do you need to prep the new substrate or can you just rinse it and dump it in... Ect

What substrate do you currently have?

I would do the following:

1. Remove everything from the tank, including the fish. Keep fish in a bucket or something full of water from your tank.

2. Remove all of the old substrate. As long as you don't remove your filter media, you'll still have beneficial bacteria.

3. Add all of the new substrate following the directions on the bag it came in.

4. Add fish and decorations again.
