So i have this new tank im gonna set up for african. But what group of african ciclids does everyone prefer?

Most people would say all Malawi male peacocks, since they are so colorful. I prefer a mixed (peacocks, mbuna, and haps) tank but there are risks with aggression.

It's not recommended unless you are very well versed/experienced in/with the different aggression levels of the three groups of Malawi cichlids or you should do a metric ton of research before hand.

I prefer the Mbuna. I have an all male Peacock tank and I don't really enjoy it.

That's why I have a mixed, best of all worlds. But i agree that it takes research and good tank setup to allow it to work

I have another tank which is all Mbuna and it is much more colorful and interesting to watch.

Well this is whst i got which im sure will get negative comments. Yellow lab, blue acei, blue cobalt, marbled senra, ele tric blue hap, kenyi, red zebra, aureatus, barlei and venustus

I think it will work but the auratus can be super aggressive so be careful!!

Funny i didntvthink arratus would be so aggressive. It is female
