Air pump and feeder fish

I currently have a 60 gallon freshwater aquarium. Will An air pump help with the parameters? Also will feeder fish cut down on the ammonia that is in the tank?

An air pump does nothing but other than causing the surface water to have movement and improve gas exchange between air and water. Adding fish increases ammonia levels.
