Algae id and how to get rid of it

What is this algae and what can I get or do to get rid of it so far I have been cutting it and removing it when it gets bad and it keeps coming back what can I do.

...That is an extensive algae problem. Um, do you have any idea what caused it? Are you leaving the light on 24/7 or something? Is the tank in direct sunlight?

I don't know what caused it it might be my lights from what time to what time should I run them.
 
Start with RO/DI water and check for and remove phosphates. Growing some other algae to remove excess nutrients. Old lights can cause excess algae. Reducing lighting time for a while until it's under control.

If the blind is letting in direct sunlight and that's we're the algae is at you will need to block the light coming in.
 
Do you have any snails in the tank? If not I would put about 10 in their.
