Not sure what algae this is. I put a phosphate absorber in a few weeks ago and it did not help at all maybe made it worse... I keep on removing everything and it grows back. It looks like hair algea but it never grows long. And then it turns brownish. I took out my phosphate remover and it seems like its turning whitish gray. The pic with it on the driftwood is when it first started growing and I actually liked it. Then there is a pic of it growing over the plant next to my cardinals... the other to pics are from recently when it's a weird color and spreads like a cotton ball.

Here are my water parameters:
PH - 7.5
Ammonia - 0PPM
Nitrite: 0PPM
Nitrate:20PPM
Temp: 83
Phosphorus 0ppm
Lights on 8 hours a day
My test kit does not have KH or GH sorry.
Tank was ok, few weeks ago... but I increased temp for an ich scare and then this stuff exploded. It started on drift wood and I liked it but now thinking I need to pull all my plants and start again? I am a newbie with plants.
Thanks for the help!

Hard for me to see with my old eyes. Is the algae green and fibrous?

It is, looks like the java moss ball's stuff at first that bright vivid green. Then it turned gray ish... and covered all my java walls and wysteria and other plants.

Cladophora. Tough stuff to get rid of. Manually remove what you can, dose a little Met 14 daily and spot treat with H2O2 in a syringe. I personally like using H2O2 and watching the stuff fizz! After it fizzes it turns white and dies.

NOTE: 0.6 ml of Met 14 is about the same as 1 ml of Excel.

I have excel coming in the mail, should be here Tuesday! I worry about h2o2 as my clown loaches are temperamental and like the tank the way they like it.
Thanks for the help!
