Do you have something for the amano to climb on? They feel safe when they have height. Mine are real pigs. If I toss in algae wafers, they will literally grab them from the kuhli loaches and swim away to find a quiet place to devour them.

New fish take a while to acclimate to their new environment. He's probably fine.

All it took was 3 days without tue light being on. I did it because I was going away, and I didn't want an algae explosion. But I guess thats what it takes.

Oh its suggested that you do that for a few days when you get a new fish anyways.
