Amano Shrimp

I currently have three amano shrimp in my 18 gallon tank and have been told they'd be happier if there were more amanos. How many more could I have in my tank?

Is one for everyone two gallons okay? Or is that too many shrimp?

I have a 20 gallon long & have 20 Amano shrimp. The more, the better. Tank cleaners big time!

My fish guy said the number is unlimited, since they don't produce waste - they eat it. Cost per shrimp is really the only issue. I had 2 die last night, but my water parameters are fine. New tank - 20% death rate in first week-no biggie. I plan on having a total of 20 Amanos. They take a while to grow to full size & are tolerant of many issues.

I correct myself from 1st reply. I bought 10. Down to 8, which to me is disconcerting. But my tank is only 9 days old. The overall chemistry is fine.
