I have a freshwater goldfish who has the typical ammonia poisoning Symptoms like sitting at the bottom fins tucked in, red gills and red steaks in fins. I have put it in a separate tank cleaning the water daily he doesn't seem to be improving at all. Might it get better or should I put it out it's misery?

Ammonia poisoning is permanent in the sense that your fishes life is potentially drastically reduced. You say you put him in a different tank...is this a cycled tank?

Thank link is one of the most important links on AA!

So is your signature! Hahaha

Yes I have a cycled tank. Thanks for the advice btw!

Do a water change (treated & temp matched) anyways to buy time.

Can you tell us more about your tank? Water parameters, history, etc.
