I have long wanted to try LED lights on my 10 Gallon (with the blue night lights) and after finding numerous DIY solutions that seemed painful and expensive I ran across this.

It seems like a pretty nice hood and I can get it at my LFS for 39.99. Will this work for my low light plants?

Is it worth getting rid of my Aqueon Hood for? It has one florescent tube (stock bulb) and it smells like BO everytime I open the hood. I have tried cleaning it but it is terrible! Any advise would be wonderful and if you own one your insight would be a plus!

I have similar LEDs and it was definitely worth it. My avatar pic is my German Blue Ram under the LEDs, and because the moonlights stay on with the white lights - it creates a really cool glow off the shiniest colors on the GBR.

Because my tank is a 26 Gallon Bowfront, I actually got their "Double Bright LED Fixture" (the 18" - 24" version) and I'm growing some great low light plants with it.

The plants I'm growing:
Anubias Nana
Anacharis
Hygrophila Difformis (wisteria)
Java Fern
Corkscrew Vallisneria

Thanks! I think that 40 bucks is a decent price for what i'd get, I am only torn because I'm not sure if i want to invest much more into this set up since i want to upgrade to a bigger tank. Decisions... decisions....
