Hi all, I have just recently set up a new, larger cichlid tank. Thought I was doing well with new power heads and filter. The tank is never clear and I assume the power heads are putting out too much so there is a huge amount of air in the water. Besides taking off the power heads, because I believe they are very efficient for the filtration of the tank, what do I do to reduce the output to slow the water flow. The the output now, these guys are gonna be pretty strong swimmers with the current these thing put out!! I have already put "sponges" on both intakes but. that didn't make a difference.....Getting tired of water changes every other day!!! I'm sure the food MAY be a contributing factor but I doubt it.

hi steve, need more info..........

what size is the tank ?
how many fish and what kind ?
what do u use for filtration ?
how often are u feeding them ?

You say new tank, how new? Did you do a proper cycle? Also what are you feeding them? A lot of lower quality foods will cloud water.
